How to Make Foam Halloween Tombstones: The PacMold Way

Are you looking to create the perfect Halloween display for your haunt? Look no further than these foam Halloween tombstones! Not only are they a fun DIY project, but they are also weather-resistant and will last you for many Halloween seasons to come.

Materials Needed:

  • Foam board
  • X-Acto knife or hot wire foam cutter
  • Paint or markers
  • 3D Molds (Many Options)
  • Stencils or freehand drawing skills
  • Sealant spray: Clear coat or marine grade shellac

Let's Jump In

Step 1: Cut the Foam Board

Start by cutting the foam board into tombstone shapes using an X-Acto knife or hot wire foam cutter. You can create any shape you want, whether it be a traditional rectangle, an ornate scalloped edge, or a unique custom design.

Step 2: Draw and Paint the Tombstones

It's time to get creative! You can use stencils to trace designs onto the tombstones or freehand draw your own designs using paint or markers. Some ideas for designs could include spooky sayings, creepy symbols, or realistic cracks and chips. Use a nail, X-Acto Knife or any sharp item to engrave the script.

Step 3: Seal/Paint the Tombstones

Finally, to ensure that your tombstones withstand the elements and last through the seasons to come, give them a few light coats of sealant spray or shellac. Allow the sealant to dry completely before displaying the tombstones in your yard.

Displaying Your Tombstones

Now that your tombstones are complete, it's time to display them! You can arrange them in a creepy cemetery scene, scatter them throughout your front yard, or even use them to create a haunted walkway leading up to your front door. Consider using solar spotlights, battery operated tea lights and/or other low maintenance lighting options.
